My name is Dimitrios Kyriazis. I am an Assistant Professor of EU Law at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Member of the Associated Researchers Group of the European Banking Institute. I am also a Research Fellow in Law at Northeastern University London (formerly New College of the Humanities - NCH), where I previously served as Head of the Law Faculty and Senior Lecturer in Law (2017-2020). I joined NCH in 2017, having taught for several years at Oxford University on the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, first as a tutor and then as a Lecturer in Law. I served as Teaching Fellow in Law at UCL and I have delivered guest lectures at Leiden University, Queen Mary University of London, Lund University and IE Law School. I continue to deliver guest lectures on Oxford’s postgraduate programmes.

I am the Founding Partner of Kyriazis Law Offices in Athens and I have previously practiced law in Brussels (Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP) and Athens (Bernitsas Law), primarily working on State Aid, M&A and Competition Law.

I obtained my LLB (Distinction) at the University of Athens, graduating top of my class. I also hold an MJur (Distinction) from the University of Oxford, graduating top of my class (Clifford Chance Prize for the best overall performance in the MJur), with the support of an Onassis Foundation scholarship.

I completed my MPhil in Law (Distinction) as a Light Senior Scholar at St Catherine’s College in Oxford. Finally, I completed my DPhil (PhD) at Oxford University, with the support of a Clarendon scholarship, an Onassis scholarship, and a grant from the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation. The Clarendon scholarship is arguably the most competitive scholarship of Oxford University; according to its official description, when 'selecting Clarendon scholars, the University has only one goal in mind: to choose the best students worldwide, as decided by experts in each student’s field.’
